Values and Code of Conduct

Why we exist

At Peer2Peer.Live we believe that connecting to community is a vital part of what it means to be human. Unfortunately, in a world where anti-Blackness, ableism, racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia run rampant it can be difficult for marginalized people to form safe and supportive communities online. Peer2Peer.Live provides a broadcaster directory that helps content creators and viewers with marginalized identities connect to and empower one another.

Our values

To be affiliated with Peer2Peer.Live you must work to create spaces free from discrimination and harassment. Violation of these policies may result in removal from the Peer2Peer.Live directory.

Discrimination definition

Peer2Peer.Live does not tolerate any action (speech, text, gestures, image based content) that is abusive, threatening, diminutive, or prejudiced against any marginalized group of people based on their race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, class, ability, sexuality, physical appearance, or religion. Any use of hate speech by a broadcaster is grounds for potential removal from the Peer2Peer.Live directory and all chats should be moderated to address hate speech.

Harassment definition

Targeting an individual or group through behavior like stalking, intimidation, sexual comments or advances, spamming, or posting personal information (doxing). It also includes encouraging others to participate in any of the above behaviors.

How to report

You can contact our moderation/development team at peer2peer@translifeline.org. If reporters are able to provide their information, as much detail as possible, and ideally a clip of or link to the violation we will be able to more easily determine the appropriate course of action.

Consequences of reports

Based on the severity of the issue reported actions taken may vary from being automatically banned from Peer2Peer.Live for severe transgressions like actively organizing harassment to temporary bans to dialogue with the opportunity to learn and change.

Safety Disclaimer

We work hard to live our values and protect people listed in our directory, but there is inherent risk in publicly listing your identities. You recognize by being a part of Peer2Peer.Live you may be exposed to increased visibility which can result in increased harassment.

All applications are manually reviewed. At times of increased application density, it may take up to 7 days or more for your account to be processed.
